Live Fish Policy

N8 Aquatics is committed to providing healthy, high-quality fish that are feeding and in good condition at the time of sale. All fish are visually inspected prior to pickup. By purchasing fish from N8 Aquatics, customers acknowledge that live animals are sensitive to environmental conditions and that proper aquarium care is required after purchase.
Health At Time of Sale
All fish are checked for health and activity before being bagged for pickup. Customers are welcome to inspect fish before they leave our care. Once fish are confirmed healthy and leave N8 Aquatics, responsibility for their care transfers to the customer.
No Returns on Live Fish
For biosecurity and animal welfare reasons, N8 Aquatics cannot accept returns of live fish once they have left our care. Returning fish to our systems could introduce disease or parasites and risk the health of other livestock.
No Refunds After Pickup
N8 Aquatics is not responsible for fish loss after pickup. Once fish leave our care, factors such as water parameters, tank maturity, compatibility with other fish, transport conditions, and acclimation procedures are outside our control.
Customer Responsibilities
- Ensuring the aquarium is fully cycled before introducing new fish
- Providing appropriate water parameters for the species purchased
- Transporting fish directly home after pickup
- Proper acclimation to the aquarium
- Ensuring compatible tank mates and appropriate tank size
Husbandry & Compatibility Responsibility
Fish purchases and husbandry decisions are made at the customer's discretion. While N8 Aquatics is happy to answer questions about species care, water parameters, or compatibility when asked, we do not actively assess or verify each customer's aquarium environment. Customers are responsible for conducting their own research and ensuring that new fish are compatible with existing livestock, tank size, and aquarium conditions. N8 Aquatics cannot be held responsible for losses caused by incompatible tank mates, predation, aggression, or unsuitable aquarium conditions.
Transport & Handling
Customers should transport fish directly home after pickup and avoid leaving fish in vehicles or extreme temperatures. Stress during transport or improper acclimation can negatively impact fish health.
Goodwill Replacements
While N8 Aquatics cannot guarantee fish once they leave our care, we may offer goodwill replacements at our discretion in certain situations. These decisions are made on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.
Agreement to Policy
By purchasing fish from N8 Aquatics, customers acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in this policy.
