Tested in our own fish room
We source our Artemia cysts from one trusted supplier for a single reason: consistent ~90% hatch rates. But we don't just take their word for it — every batch is hatch-tested in the N8 fish room, where we check hatch rate, timing and nauplii activity before it goes out under our name. The Artemia you get is the same live food we feed our own breeding fish, every day.
Why feed Artemia nauplii?
There's a reason experienced breeders swear by live brine shrimp. Freshly hatched nauplii deliver what dry food can't:
- Perfect for fry — tiny, protein-packed and proven to lift survival and growth rates
- Bigger, brighter fish — fuels rapid growth and stronger colour
- Triggers natural feeding — live movement switches on hunting instincts, even in fussy eaters
- Enrichment, not just food — your fish hunt, chase and thrive
What's in the pack
- 25g of high-quality Artemia cysts (~90% hatch potential)
- N8 measuring spoon for consistent dosing
- Food-grade silica pack to keep cysts fresh
- Resealable pouch for long-term storage
How to hatch — the N8 method
Dead simple:
- 1 litre of water
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 N8 measuring spoon of Artemia
- Aerate and keep warm at 24–28°C
- Harvest at 18–24 hours
You can leave them longer, but the longer they sit the higher the risk of ammonia spikes and anaerobic pockets — so harvest on time for the healthiest nauplii. No complicated setup, no guesswork.
Quality you can trust
Our Artemia is handled in clean, controlled conditions to lock in freshness and prevent contamination. Rich in protein and omega-3 fatty acids, it fuels fast growth, vibrant colour and a stronger immune response — for fry and adults, freshwater and marine alike. The 25g resealable pack is portioned to cut waste and store easily, so every feed is as fresh as the first.
Artemia brine shrimp FAQ
How long do hatched brine shrimp stay nutritious?
Feed nauplii within about 12–24 hours of hatching — that's when their yolk-rich food value is highest.
Can adult fish eat Artemia too?
Absolutely. Baby brine shrimp are a brilliant conditioning food for adults, not just fry.
How should I store the cysts?
Keep them sealed in the resealable pouch somewhere cool and dry. Storing in the fridge or freezer extends shelf life.
Does N8 Aquatics ship Australia-wide?
Yes — we ship quality live food and fish Australia-wide.
