The Calico Oranda Goldfish combines a soft nacreous calico pattern of blue, red, black and orange with the signature raspberry-like wen growth that defines the Oranda variety, giving it a uniquely textured and colourful appearance.

As this fish matures, its calico pattern often continues to shift subtly while the wen growth thickens across the crown of the head, making each Calico Oranda a fish that changes and develops over time. It shares the same slow, graceful swimming style as other wen varieties.

Compatibility

As one of the slowest-swimming fancy goldfish varieties, wen-headed goldfish do best kept exclusively with other similarly slow, rounder-bodied fancy goldfish.

Suitable tankmates include:

• Other Oranda or Ranchu goldfish
• Other slow-swimming fancy goldfish varieties
• Peaceful, cold-tolerant snails
• Avoid fast single-tail comets, which will out-compete them for food
