Corydoras Pygmaeus Catfish - A Tiny Nano Cory That Schools Mid-Water Too

The Corydoras Pygmaeus is a true nano species, reaching only a couple of centimetres at full size, and unlike most corys it isn't confined to the substrate — this little fish schools happily in mid-water as well as along the bottom, adding movement throughout the whole tank.

Its diminutive size makes it perfect for smaller nano aquariums and shrimp tanks where a full-sized corydoras simply wouldn't fit comfortably. Keep it in a decent-sized group and it displays constant, gentle activity, foraging over soft sand while still schooling actively above it.

Diet

A tiny omnivore that grazes throughout the water column, not just the substrate.

• Feed small amounts often rather than one large feed

Compatibility

Its tiny adult size means tankmates need to be equally small and peaceful.

Suitable tankmates include:

• Nano tetras
• Shrimp (Neocaridina/Caridina)
• Other small, peaceful nano fish
• Avoid anything large enough to see it as food

Avoid aggressive or fin-nipping species.
