The Hellboy Plakat Betta pairs a deep red body with heavy black shading across the head and fins, creating the dramatic, smouldering look this strain is named for. Its short-finned plakat form only adds to the impression, giving the fish a stocky, purposeful presence in the tank.

This is one of the more dramatic colour patterns in the plakat lineup, and the black shading can deepen further as the fish ages and settles into its environment. Temperament-wise it is every bit the confident, feisty plakat, so a tank of its own is essential.
