Mustard Half Moon Male Betta - Mustard-Yellow and Olive Tones on a 180° Tail
The Mustard Half Moon Male Betta blends mustard-yellow and olive body tones with a tail that opens to a full 180-degree half-moon spread, a warmer, earthier colour palette than the brighter reds and blues typical of many show bettas.
This variety pairs its distinctive colouring with all the display drama of the half moon fin type, flaring its wide tail and fins confidently when it feels its territory is challenged. Like every male betta, it should always be kept alone rather than with other bettas.
At N8 Aquatics, our fish are carefully raised and conditioned to ensure healthy stock suited to home aquariums.

Ideal Habitat and Care
A heated, filtered 20 L or larger aquarium with gentle flow and smooth decor helps protect this Mustard Half Moon's wide-spreading tail.
- Temperature: 24–28°C
- pH: 6.5–7.5
- Water Flow: Low to gentle — bettas dislike strong currents
- Maintenance: Weekly partial water changes with stable, cycled filtration
Diet
A protein-rich diet keeps this carnivore-leaning omnivore in peak colour and condition.
- High-quality betta pellets as a daily staple
- Frozen or live bloodworm for enrichment
- Frozen or live brine shrimp for extra protein
- Occasional variety to keep colours vibrant
Compatibility
Best kept alone, or with calm bottom dwellers and non-fin-nipping tankmates; avoid other bettas and gourami, which can trigger territorial aggression.
Suitable tankmates include:
- Calm bottom-dwelling species such as corydoras
- Peaceful, fast-moving nano fish that stay out of its territory
- Snails in a well-established, planted tank
- Avoid other male bettas and gourami
Avoid aggressive or fin-nipping species.
