Similis Corydoras - A Softly Iridescent Cory Prized for Its Smudge Marking

Also known as the Smudge Spot Cory, the Similis Corydoras is prized for a soft violet sheen across its body paired with a distinctive smudged marking near the tail that sets it apart from other corydoras species. It's a subtler, more refined look that catches the eye on close inspection.

Like its relatives it's a peaceful, sociable bottom dweller that thrives in a group, spending its time foraging over soft substrate for anything the rest of the tank has missed. Easy to care for and unfussy about water chemistry, it makes a lovely, slightly less common addition to a community tank.

Ideal Habitat and Care

A true omnivore that spends its day sifting the substrate for food.

• Will help clean up leftover food from mid-water feeders

Compatibility

A peaceful bottom-dweller that fits into almost any community tank.

Suitable tankmates include:

• Other corydoras species (keep in a group)
