The Variatus Platy (Xiphophorus variatus) is one of the most colourful and easygoing livebearers you can keep. Available in a lovely range of colours, they bring constant movement and brightness to a community tank.

Variatus Platies are hardy, peaceful, and a little more tolerant of cooler water than the common platy, which makes them a forgiving choice for new and experienced keepers alike.

Care and Habitat

Variatus Platies thrive in clean, stable water with plenty of swimming space and some planting. They appreciate slightly harder, alkaline water and a varied diet that includes some plant matter.
